Cleaning chicks eye

Hi! I am totally new to the whole chicken thing, but this website and forum is so awesome. I have already learned a ton!!

One of my chicks has a sticky eye. I am pretty sure it's just dirty. They came from pretty gross conditions. What is the best way to wipe it's eye? Can I just use a warm washcloth or should I do something else?

I use a q-tip to clean faces. I'm always afraid I'll be too rough with a washcloth. Just wet the q-tip with some warm water and gently swipe it across the eye. Good luck!

I have a one-eyed hen. When she lost her eye, I purchased a plant mister & used that to spritz her eye with medicated wash several times a day.
