clear top incubator

I am considering buying an incubator and there is one on ebay that is octagon in shape and has a clear top on it. It looks entirely cool because we could really watch the hatching. I'm too new to byc forum, so I can't post a url, but the item # is 270737695636. I am just wondering if anybody has any experience with one like it and if they had a good experience with it. I've read of some not keeping the temperature well, so a review on this one would be very much appreciated.

I don't have the clear top one, but have the red octogan one. Hold temp like a rock, ahve to hand turn. temp returns with in a minute of waht it was. Just floow thw directions and it will hatch chicks.I have 2 and mine are prest temsp. 1 runs just a bit warmer and will hacth about 3 to 4 hrs sooner on averarge. I now use a sportmans hacther to hacth in and use mine just to incubate. RThey ahve been running since spetember non stop. Have hatched about 500 chicks. Have red golden pheasanst, bcm, wellsummer, red bourban turkeys in them right now. Very happy with mine. They are in my basement and they worked very well even though it was about 63 down there all winter. Now about 68 but still keep temp like they are supposed to.

i have seen those they are very cool i have seen the red and blue-clear incubators i dont know the name of it, but it is a neat looking little thing,,,, but very expensive for the fact that you have to handturn the eggs

My county fair association just bought one for me to use in next year's fair. I took it out of the box and looked it over but haven't even had time to read the seemingly brief set of directions. It does have a good bit of transparency, but it is in no way insulated so it's going to need a temperature stable area. Can't say much about it beyond that just yet.

I saw a picture of one in a post, that I can't find again, and they seemed pretty happy with it. I was thinking it needed to be in a temp stable place, I just haven't figured out where that is going to be

I want it to be fairly out in the open so my kids can see it, though its going to be completely boring for most of the month, but I also have to keep my 3 year old's paws away. On my kitchen table would be handy, but when we open windows, that is the main breezeway. Decisions decisions.

The Hovabator Genesis 1588 is awesome and has a clear top. It comes pre-programmed to the correct temp so after testing it all you have to do is plug it. For me, not having to worry about setting a thermostat makes me exponentially more relaxed. Also, the clear top is perfect to keep an eye on the hatch.

I have two of the clear top ones and one of the red ones. I use them as hatchers. Two are stable with temp one I have to fiddle with all the time. Very easy clean up.

I have some brinsea eco 20 as well. Yes they do have more room for hatch. Im really thinking about putting some type of rubber insulation around them to see if they will hold heat and humidity better.
