I'm not familiar with the mechanics of chicken sex, but I'm getting a roo tomorrow, and I'm wondering if I have to clip a wing if he will still be able to balance himself.

Maybe after watching the answer will be clear to me.

Should be able too. If not just clip both sides equaly. He still won't be able to fly if clipped short enough.

Good luck and God Bless!

Thanks for the input. He may not need it, but he's a young cockerel who is just hitting maturity and hasn't been handled like my girls have. I've only had to clip one of my pullets, so maybe he'll just want to stay on the ground where the girls are. Time will tell...

Thanks

If you clip his wings, just be sure to clip both sides. Just don't clip them too short, and be sure not to clip any blood feathers. Also, clip them on both sides and your boy should be fine.

Good luck!
