I have a chick that was pecked on by the other chicks and I have seperated her and also put blu-kote on her. Someone on here told me not to worry much about the blu-kote getting on the vent area because it would not clog that area.
Well, it did, and now she has to strain to poop. Well, last night I tried my best to clean her with warm water and a q tip trying to loosen the poop and the blu-kote. Even had to use scissors to cut some of it away.
I need to know how I can get it all off and if her straining is going to affect her egg production in the future.

Note::: the chick is 4 weeks old. Thanks for any advice.

I don't think it would cause long term damage, but if the chick can't poop then it won't matter because she won't make it to laying age...

Hopefully the cleanup job did the trick and now she can poop OK now!

Not sure why this is happening but, now she sound like a woman grunting when she tries to poop. the area is cleaned away some but she still strains to poop. Why?
