Close Call

I went to shut up the hens last night. Now with the new addition of hardware cloth door I closed the wooden door over the hardware cloth door (it was raining the pour last night).

I woke up this morning and my wife informed me my hens were out in the run. I walked out to the coop and things looked bad when I noticed a false plastic Easter egg on the ground out in the run that I use to encourage the hens to lay in the nest boxes. I opened the coop and began counting my hens

GOOD NEWS!

All the hens are OK!

I dodge a bullet there because Mr. Raccoon has been around almost every night.

I failed to shut up the pop door (that what happens when you have 63 trips around the sun).

I can wait. It seems to be getting here sooner than I want. The trips seem to be getting faster too sourland! Especially since I retired!!

Amazing how time speeds up once you are retired. I'm so busy that I don't know how I ever managed to go to work.

Right on! I was supposed to help do a roofing job today on a 12 x12 pitch roof that we half complete last weekend but foul weather put a damper on that.
