Close nests or not

I'm getting 10 ready to lay pullets In a few days and was wondering if I leave the nests open right away or wait till I see them laying elsewhere in the coop. ,

Welcome to BYC. As long as the roosts are located higher than the nest boxes, and they sleep on the roosts there would be no reason to close the nests .
