Has anyone traded in their clunker for the 4500 cash? That's about 250,000 cars for every billion dollars. Seems like a waste that they crush the car though. I originally heard that they just froze the engine. Lots of good sheet metal and used body parts on the car for people that can't afford to buy new cars. They should change that portion of the deal.

Gee, I didn't read any of those. You know me I would've posted. Must not have lasted too long.

LOL, i have no clue why...just ringing a bell! I know some were double posted and the other IDK!
It's funny cause the junk yards down here are empty. All recycled to the scrap yard for cash. The catylic converter has platinum in it and people are stealing them from cars. Some guy had a rig of them and was killed, murder unsolved~ SCARY!
here in fl they will steal any metal not bolted down, a'c units copper tubbing and siding off abandoned mobile home..SIGH

They best was the guy with shopping carts in the back ofhis truck! yeah they were stolen and the cops were laughing~
The worst the Urn's from grave sites.... that's just wrong

my grandpa is going to trade in his '89 chevy full size. I guess 80,000 miles is over the hill, but hey, it qualifies and is worth more than the trade in? :dunno

My truck is not a clunker

A couple people here got in. My only comment was typical for me: I'm glad our tax dollars funded some BYC'ers new car.
It was told that the vehicles were stripped of useable parts for the after market, the engines frozen and the hulk scrapped for reclamation.

so wait, what is the rules to trade in? You have to get a new car? I got an 84 vanagon camper that has been sitting and i want it gone! I am asking 3k and if i can get 4,500 it's gone! But i don'twant another car.

Disclaimer** I am commiting a VW sin by even mentioning i would do that but it's a vanagon not a baywindow, so...........................

Don't trade in your trucks! The fuel standards set for future automobiles means that new trucks will be pretty much gutless.

Old clunker trucks will be worth something then. They can actually do the job and pull a load.
