i have a 2 week old chick that became inactive this AM, not eating or moving much. I've given mild sugar water via syringe. I have not seen any dropping from him/her. Clear eyes, no mucus from anywhere, no sneezing or bad breathing. Should I go ahead with Coccidia treatment or try something else?? The rest of them seem fine so far. Suggestions??? Thanks!

I'm incredibly diligent about clean bedding and feeders/drinkers...washing hands before and after handling etc

Do you have some vitamins and electrolytes, such as SaveAChick to add to the water? You can start dipping it's beak to make it drink, in case it is just dehydrated. If the chick is having diarrhea or blood in stools, I would go ahead and start on Corid (amprollium) in the water, and treat all chicks at once. It won't harm them if it is not coccidiosis. Dosage is 2 tsp of the liquid Corid, or 1.5 tsp of the powder per gallon of water for 5-7 days. Then follow up with several days of vitamins and a little buttermilk for probiotics.

Kathy, thank you.
I'll get a picture as soon as I see poop again. The little one has been such a poor eater I'm not seeing any at the moment and I have overhauled the bin several times. It was liquidy and dark red in color last I saw some.

You can make a Corid drench for it by mixing 1/2 teaspoon Corid with 9ml of water. Mix well and give 0.075ml per 100 gram. This is how I treat mine when they aren't drinking enough. This is done in addition to their medicated water for one or two days.

Note that the dose is 0.075ml per 100 grams, which is less than 1/10cc

Thank you again!
the chick is much better today, kind of amazing how fast they can come around. Eating and drinking again, more active although a little sluggish. I'll keep up with the medication in the water for all of them, it seems to be doing the trick!
