Cocci in quail

Can the cocci that affects chickens affect quail and vice versa?

I do not know if it is the same specific strains, but I believe chickens can catch something like 9 or 10 different strains, while quail can catch 3 or 4 strains. If some of those are the same, I do not know. But I would assume yes.

Poop. Same way it is transmitted from any bird to any other bird. It lives in their digestive system and is pooped out.

So as long as a quail doesn't come into contact with chicken poop that's infected with cocci the quail will be fine?

No way to guarantee, but you can always treat for it if your birds do get it.
