Hello, I am new to BYC and need some advise. No one in my area have enough knowledge to help me. I had a flock of seven. 2 barred rocks, 1 golden buff, 1 painted silkie, 1 Rhode Island Red, 1 de 'uccle bantam and 1 white layer. Yesterday I noticed my bantam had watery bloody stool when I was putting them up for the night. He was eating and drinking fine all day. I had only had him a day (he was a rescue I received from the breeder I purchased my other chickens from) this morning I found him dead at the bottom of the roost. I'm in a panic because he was around all my other chickens and they are all between three And six months old. I called the closest feed store they told me too continue with my medicated feed and get an nycropsey on the dead chicken. While that sounds like a good idea, I'm not spending 300 dolars on it. What do I do?

Welcome to BYC. Continue with the medicated feed, and treat for cocci if your chicks start showing signs. First lesson learned - always quarantine new birds. Good luck.
