Chicks 3-8 days old. A few have diarrhea that just started today. The oldest I hatched and is an only survivor so I bought her 7 TSC chicks as companions in the brooder. Had 4 more hatch Sat and 1 more Sunday. All are in the brooder together as of late last night. I didn't notice any diarrhea this morning when I changed the pee pad, but then this evening while I had them out and on a clean pad, I noticed the diarrhea from several of them. They are all eating and drinking fine and getting a long well. I have been giving them some BSFL from GrubTera. Not a lot (maybe 30-40 worms), and I crushed them into tiny pieces. Could that be causing the diarrhea? I'm reading from some that treating with Corid if they don't have Coccidiosis can cause them to be b1 deficient, and others say it's perfectly safe. They're so young and I don't understand where it came from if it's coccidiosis since I hatched them myself, NR360 was thoroughly cleaned before incubating, and it's my youngest hatched chicks that have the diarrhea, not the TSC chicks.

Baby chicks need to be eating chick crumbles and clean water. I would show them the feed and stop feeding other things for a couple of weeks. You can add a little water to some of the crumbles and some egg yolk in addition to the dry crumbles. It is too early for coccidiosis unless they were exposed to others or to the dirt outside.

I would stop the BSFL and see if they improve. I never give my chicks this young anything extra, they just get their starter/grower feed. The extra's can dilute their nutrition and they are growing very fast and need all the nutrients in the feed. Chick droppings can vary a lot in consistency, and diet can certainly have an effect. Do they have chick grit available? If they are eating anything but feed they need access to grit. They all appear to be acting normally, so I would hold off on Corid unless you see any acting lethargic, not eating or drinking, or see a lot of mucous or blood in droppings. Things can change quickly with chicks, so definitely keep an eye on them.

Thank you,
I do have them on starter crumble and they're all eating well. Water cleaned and refilled 2 x day. None have ever been outside or exposed to any of chicks, other than the TSC chicks. So I'll stop the BSFL til they're older and keep doing what I have been (-BSFL)

if you suspect cocci make some tea of the same parts of basil, thyme and oregano. dilute it with water and chicks should drink it for 3-5 days. there is no harm if they drink is longer. this tea is good for any intestinal issue.
