Hi
, hope all of you and your feather friends are doing well. I wanted to ask you something about coccidiosis.

Recently mybantam Brahma hen died of coccidiosis but died due to over dosing off septran by vet... now I have other chicken s too. I have given them coccivet composition include ( amprolium + ethopabate) 2 drops directly in to the beak twice a day for 7 days. Till day sixth with coccivet they were fine but now seems lathergic weak. Should I give them neurobion and methycobal. Other than that I have purchased sulfa drug medicine as coxicure local brand.salts include( Sulphadimidine sodium+ sulphaquinoxaline sodium + diaveridine +vitt A , k 2) Should I start that now or wait for three days and provide her with vitamin and electrolytes. Any help suggestion s would be highly appreciated.

The products that' I currently have are coxi cure and coccivet. Let me tell you that I am not from the US. I am living in Pakistan. Coxi cure is a local product and coccivet is an Australian product. Here are the photos.

Brahma bantam rooster is around 900 grams and hen 530 grams. Coccidiosis mostly spread in warm and wet condition s but over here these we are going through winter s:) I also wanted to know that on coccivet it says 80g/L amprolium and 5g some other salt . What does it mean?

80 g/l means one liter contains 80 grams of amprolium, which means one ml has 80 mg of amprolium.

You can give it undiluted. Your 900 gram boy can have 0.225 ml orally and the 530 gram one can have 0.13 ml orally.

Alright.. but the bottle that I have is just about 50 MLs. And it says 80g/l amprolium and 5g ethopabate/l .now n should I continue the way you said or the dose is gonna be change according to the bottle size . How many days should I continue and once a day or twice? Hen is not eating that much. I do have katee hand feeding formula can I give that with amprolium? Lol I am confused regarding the calculation :)

The size of the bottle doesn't matter. Think of it like this... Pretend they took a one liter bottle and filled up a bunch of little 50 ml bottles. Does that help at all?

Ahh i got it. Right. My hen is all fluffed up. Not eating. I have given about 4 drops directly in to the beak. It worked for five days. She started eating like crazy but then suddenly don't know what happened she is going down hill. Has coccidiosis created resistance or what? Can I mix amprolium with sulpha drugs ? Thanks for your help and support stay blessed!!
