I have been reading through chicken forums regarding Coccidiosis and found the treatment is Amprolium (Corrid). No word about antibiotics. I read on Wikopedia that Sulfasalazine or other sulfa antibiotics are used to tread Coccidiosis and there was no mention of amprolium (Corrid). Why is that? Does anyone use this sulfa antibiotic or any other antibiotic to treat Coccidiosis? Are sulfa antibiotics safe to use with chickens?
Corrid, Coccivex and numerous other brands are much easier on the chicken than antibiotics and as Coach mentions easier to get.
