We have a chicken that has coccidiosis. She has been on the medicine from vet since Thursday. My husband is worried because she really hasn't ate much since Thursday. Is that normal or should she be eating?

Vedco is a brand. Can you post a picture of the medication?
What symptoms is your bird having? Older birds usually have some resistance to coccidia and don't get ill from it unless their immune systems are weakened by something else, or they are exposed to a new strain. Do you know when she last laid?

I think we need a picture of the medicine to be able to give you advice.
Is it sulfa? What does the powder contain?

Yes it's a good one.
But if it has to be mixed with food and the bird is not eating, it might be possible that the bird is not getting enough medicine in the system.
I would call the vet and let them know about the problem, and ask them if there is a way to syringe the medicine directly in the birds mouth, or if it would be better to try a medicine in liquid form.
