Okay i just checked this little sick chicken very well underneath around the vent. even though the poop that is on the paper is formed and looks quite normal this little chicken is very wet on those feathers, now what would she still have diarrea i know i spelled that wrong. should i give sulmet, i havent been able to get corid anywhere would the sulmet be okay. i am sure she is a goner but i could give that if it might help also there is white things like eggs on those wet feathers maybe blow flies. donna

How old is your chick? What kind of food do you feed? Medicated feed? Is she inside or outside? What kind of bedding? White things like eggs on her? Is it maggots? Or could it be lice?

I am not sure of the age fully feathered about size of a pigeon the guy said they were almost grown. a banty type. they were droopy when i got them. I have kept them isolated. I have tried the vitamins electrolytes medicated feed. the one is just about dead. the other one which was the better of the two and i thought would make it started doing that opening and shutting its beak when it breathes. The other one did not do that . The eat and drink very little . I have now started sulmet in the water. The poop looks pretty normal but the backends are messy wet. I am at my whits end and have learned a lesson on feeling sorry for something when it is at an auction. I just don't knowwhy the breathing thing now. any help would be greatly appreciated. thank you donna

Just to update everyone. I am going to take the one banty that died for a necropsy at new bolton center to see what has been going on with these two little chickens. For anyone in Pa. That lives near here in Pa. Lancaster chester county area the lady told me if it is a backyard flock there will be no charge. They wont do the necropsy until tuesday. I will let everyone know what they have found out as several others who have lost the chickens appeared to have the symptoms these do. Thanks everyone by the way one is till hanging on. Thanks donna
