Hello..I read your article about cocerells and rooster. You seem to have a lot of understanding about them.Yes the chick's are his babies..
Our 2 year old is a speckled sussex..The hens love him.He is mostly a gentleman. But when Gwenevere went broody, he changed towards her..Pecked her on her comb, and friked her out..And now the babies are 1 month old, and Alf (rooster) constantly chase them away from food and wather, with a run and small peck at them? I don't understand this behaviour? They all freerange all day long, but Gwenevere and little ones sleep in a separate little coop..All the other ones sleep on the roof on the bigger coop..All 7 off them seems to prefer to sleep out doors..We are in Wales, UK..
Do you have any suggestions about Alfs behaviour? Thanks
