This is from a batch of chicks that was given. I believe it is a Cochin but it is still very small.
It had fuzzy feet if that helps.
I was also wondering is anyone has ever seen this on a baby chicks head?

S/he is SO sweet and the spot on it's head doesn't hurt it at all. I've rubbed it a little to make sure,
just not sure what it is?

It looks cochin-ish and possibly a pullet, but it is hard to say. Was it in with bigger chicks? It almost looks like the head has been pecked at...or possibly a burn from a light/heat source.

Yes it was in with bigger ones at times. I haven't seen any bloody spots on it. I got it after it was able to leave it's mama so it wasn't under a heat lamp. For now I'm just keeping an eye on it since it doesn't seem to hurt her at all. Thanks!

Are her wing feathers a little ratty? Or is that just growing-chick awkwardness? If they're unusually ratty, she might be getting picked on all over.

She really doesn't get picked on that I see. Whenever I am outside I watch her. Sometimes I even sit in the coop to watch because I thought the same thing. She must just be a funky chicken! Either way, she's caught a special place in my heart. Maybe they are picking on her after I've gone in for the evening.

You know...she kind of looks like a cochin/silkie cross....which would also explain the feathers on the wing.

My cochin chick has stolen my heart...so I know what you mean. This is her...about 9 1/2 weeks.

They look very similar.

Oh, they do! That would be wonderful! Your little girl is beautiful. All of the others that I got with her are cochins. There is one that looks more like her, but all of the others are just pure white.
She just stands out.
I will have to keep you updated on her coloring and feathers to see if we have the same kind of babies.

Hopefully her little head will heal soon, too.

Thanks again!

I love her! At my house we adopt special pets and I just want to take that little one and cuddle it :)
Awe, that is fantastic!

I was thinning my flock and just could not part with her because I wanted to see her overcome whatever this was and grow up.
I definitely cuddle her!

She's lucky to have you watching out for her. :)

I still feel bad for passing over the injured (no one knew from what) chick at the feed store . . . .
