Hi! I truly hope that there is people, who can help me and my rooster. He is ( 9 month old cochin ) not able to walk prox 2 weeks. He stand, but takes hardly two steps. I thought the problem was his muscles and tendons (sorry my english) There is pictures of his toes- his first rightsided toes are upside and small (both legs is the same issue ) and his middle toes have a huge nails- dosn´t look that toe tip reach the groun at all. And there is a dark pink- but no blood. I search the hole bird, no visible skin deseases. I brought him 6 months ago and he was fine all that time. I had no knowledge to have a cochin rooster (seller sold us a hen) and our coop bedding is sawdust.
Please, if you have the knowledge how to treat or something that helps, let me know.

How high up are your roosts? Sometimes they can get hurt jumping off a higher roost. I personally don't see anything wrong in your pictures so I would guess it's an injury of some type. Sometimes they can take a while to heal.

He is high 1,40 f (its over 40 cm high) this mesure i could take right now.
Yes, he is a big like all cochins are. I also thouth that there is come injure, but i put his legs to Potassium permanganate water (we use this chemical often- if there is wounds to be treated) and i cut his leg feathers. And the first time I saw his toes. I dont know, how this bird is able to get some balance, ahead is only 2 toes (third is small and invalid) I am a new in this world, tell me!

First roost up shouldn't be very high up. I have had plenty of chickens with twisted toes, turned toes and no toes due to frostbite, they still can walk okay. Give him time. Otherwise things like Mareks can cause walking problems.

1.4 foot roost would not be very high. Toe deformities can get worse with age, and many times are not noticed until it is too late to help them. He might possibly have jumped and injured his legs, or he could have a leg bone deformity that may have not been noticed because of his feathered legs. I would try to hold him up to get a picture of him standing, although with the feathered legs, it might not be easy to see anything. As Old Hens said, if he has Mareks disease, that can cause leg paralysis. Mareks is caused by a virus, and along with lameness, it causes cancerous tumors. I would place him in a cage or pen with food and water close to him, to rest his leg, or try to make a chicken sling or chair, so he can be upright and in front of food and water. Here are some examples of homemade chicken slings:

Thanks all of you. Today we checked again hes legs, i had a helping hand. Outside toes are upside, one middle toe and nail is deformed, seems like there is no function at all. We pushed finger under his foot and he crabs finger with hes toes. This is a very good method to check bird toe function. Unfortunately one toe (front middle) dosn´t have any force. That's the reason why he cant walk and he has no balance. He's separated 1,5 week ago and i am not able to keep him on my house anymore. Back to the flock is no option- another rooster is attacking him. So we sacrifice him and send him to the lab. It is very traumatic to me. But there is no options. We have reasons to worry, farm where we bought him and one other pullet, there may be marek desease. Chicken's eyes are of different color- one is baby eye (also now when she is an adult) We are an evolving farm and under no circumstances we don´t sell any sick bird or hatched egg to outside. The lab results will solve this mystery.
