I have posted this group a few times......and gotten mixed answers, so I will try again now that they are older.

Are these bad quality barred....or cuckoo....or something else?

They look like Cuckoo to me, but I am by no means an expert. Either way they are I'd love to have some eggs from them....they're very pretty!

I can't tell the difference from barred to cuckoo anywho.

The only thing I waould say about your cochins is their tails are not the fluffiest. But that might come with a few more months of feathering out.

They are only about 13 weeks old, so get poofier by the day, it seems.

Micki, where did you get yours? it does look just like one of mine.

Kelly, I don't have a cochin roo, so anything from them would be a mix (probably with either blue andalusian or rir, depending on where they end up). I think mixing them with a white roo would be interesting.

I don't know about Nella's but Dutchess is only 4 months old. She is a giant cochin and has alot of growing to do. I am sure she will fluff out as she matures.

Nella My pullet came from our own eggs. Her mother is a blue cochin and her Daddy is well I call him a bronze barred cochin. He has a brown and gold barring. It looks similar in color to a bronze turkey. The breeder I got him from said he came from white rooster and a blue mother. When he was young he was the same color as Dutchess I am anxious to see if she changes color as well. Here is a picture of the Daddy
