Cochins with scaly leg mites

I have never had to deal with leg mites before though I have read about various treatments. My hens are heavily feathered all the way down - is there a best way to deal with the mites through the feathers? If I use vaseline, do I grease up the feathers as well? Should I treat all the chickens, even though only 2 are showing symptoms? Do I need to spray the roosts with something? Thanks for all info and suggestions!

I've never had to deal with it personally, but if I did I would put Vaseline in the leg feathers as well as on the legs and I would spread Sevin dust and DE in the coop, around roosts, etc.
