Cochn Pullet ? Cckeral ? Why Cut Crown

So I Thought this was an Pullet because of it's crown. Then to night I noticed it had been CUT .

1st question so is it an Cockerel then ?

Why would someone need to cut the crown ?

That bird's a cockerel. Females won't be colored like that.

Can you get a closer pic of the comb?

Top Pic on 1st post is it. there is no noticeable comb, as I look UP CLOSE its almost flat no real ridges
or bumps. we got him from a few weeks old.
