My Welsummer boyo decided to serenade me last night for the first time. He just about blew the roof off the garage. That boy's got a set of lungs on him!

7 weeks to the day

Though last night he kind of wore out his welcome. "Crowed" for about 20 minutes running. It sounded like someone was stepping on a turkey who was playing the bagpipes.

How old do cuckoo marans start crowing? I have a 17 week old and he, supposed to be a he, hasn't crowed yet.

From what I've heard (and I'm by no means an expert) my little guy is a little... precocious. Some can wait a full year or longer. But I think what I've heard mostly is about the same time the hens lay.
