Good morning everyone! I've been hovering around this site for the past year trying to get coop ideas and learn what I can about starting my very own "farm". My wife is finally on board with building a coop and hatching some chickens in the spring. I have so many questions/concerns that I don't know where to start. We live in "upstate" NY, the quotations are somewhat of a joke. I grew up in Northern NY (just below Canada) and my in laws are from Long Island, so anything North of them is upstate. My wife and I have been married for 3+ years and we have an amazing little boy who loves to do everything with mommy and daddy. We're an outdoorsy family, hunting, hiking, camping, etc. We have about an acre of property in a fairly rural setting and I think we're ready to start raising some cluckers! I'm looking forward to meeting everyone on BackYard Chickens and asking a plethora of questions.
