Been wanting a cockatiel lately. However, the birds are loud! I could keep them outside, however the place I live often gets to 40 degrees C in summer and to about 10 degrees C in winter. Could get another for huddling to keep warm, but I only really want 1… what to do?

If you want to keep it outside, it needs a companion. Cockatiels are great pets if you spend time with them, because they will bond to you. If it is just left outside with no company, it will be unhappy. If you think they are too loud, they may not be the right pet for you.

Oke. Honestly it’s my parents who have decided they’re too noisy and I don’t mind it. Sorry I miscommunicated :/

I just got my female cockatiel ands she not to loud, shes only loud when she is talking to my other birds.

Those temeratures will not bother a cockatiel if it is protected by shade from the sun and wind protected too.
I should know - I live where they originate - Australia.
The wild birds here live in temps like that all the time.
Cockatiels are also really rather a quiet bird.
