Cockatiels(pics and breeding question and what colro are these guys)

Good for you. There's nothing wrong with wanting to make your own pets by breeding. Cockatiels are wonderful birds. It's a shame that so many more are bred than find good homes. This is a bit off-topic, but I'm planning on moving to south Florida when I'm all done with grad school, and I'd love to set up some aviaries as part of my landscaping. There will be some that will be stocked solely with "unwanted" birds. I figure that this way I can enjoy having my outdoor aviaries, and the "unwanted" birds can live out their lives in the sunshine year-round as a same-species flock. I was inspired by www.cockatoorescue.org to do this. If more people in warm climates were willing to build an aviary or two outside, we could severely reduce the "rescue-bird" population. Glad to know those two cockatiels found a great home.

Thanks! Yes that is wonderful dream to have. Its much to cold here in Canada, but if I ever won the lottery 'd hav a bird room, strictly for unwanted tiels. I don't thik tiels get enough respect. They are a wondeful little bird with a ton of personality. Too small to be intimidating but intelligent and funny. I have a rescue conure now. He has a pretty severe beak deformity.. I' like rescues!
