I’m usually pretty good with my bantam Cochins, but this one has me second guessing myself. Almost 4 months old. Cockerel or Pullet?

Hmm.. the comb and wattles are red, and good size. But the feathers look pullet to me. 4 months/16 weeks still seems a little young, but I've seen plenty of folks here say theirs started laying by 15 to 18 weeks. So it's a possibility for sure. I'm too new to make an accurate guess, I'm sorry!

Those hackle feathers look round to me and I'm not seeing droopy saddle feathers. I'm voting pullet, close to laying. I'm still fairly new myself, so wait for others to weigh in.

I think it is a pullet, because it doesn't have any sickle feathers, and the feathers surrounding the base of the tail are rounded, not pointed like a cockerel's.
