Cockerel Puffed Up

I moved 10 week old chicks from the brooder to the grow-out. They were inside because it had been in the triple digits so too hot to transition them. The temps dropped into the upper 80s - 90s so I moved them outside. They were all fine before I moved them outside. One of my cockerels seemed stressed. I figured it was still too hot for him since he is an English Orpington. I noticed he would just lay around. This went on for a couple of days. It didn't look like he was eating or drinking much either. Wednesday morning I noticed that he didn't come out of the coop when the others did. I went out and he was laying on the roost bar. I brought him out and saw that he didn't want to stand. I thought maybe he was dehydrated and deficient in nutrients since he didn't seem to eat and drink much.

I brought him back inside to the brooder. I tried to get him to eat and drink something. He did have a little bit. I added Rooster Booster/Poultry Cell to his water and gave him a scrambled egg. He ate a few bites from my hand but that was about it. He just laid back down. I tried to get him to eat and drink some more a little later. He did have a little bit. A few hours later he was standing but he was all puffed up, looking like a ball. His wings hanging down by his side. He isn't steady on his feet either.

The run they are in is completely dry so not a great environment for Coccidiosis. I didn't notice any abnormal droppings in the run or coop. I have not seen him poop but figured it is because he isn't eating enough. I don't see any lice or mites. No evidence of worms in the droppings in the coop. Again, they were completely normal before I moved them outside. The others are doing fine.

I don't know what else to do for him. He will be 11 weeks tomorrow, still growing, so it is even more detrimental that he isn't eating and drinking enough. I am afraid to treat for Coccidiosis in case it is dehydration and malnutrition. In this case, it would make it worse.

Help!

Poor guy! I don't think corid in his water to treat for coccidiosis would hurt. I'm sure others with experience will chime in soon. Bumping this thread so it stays to the top.

I just read that the incubation period is 8 days. So, it would have been too soon if it were Coccidiosis.
