We adopted our little chicks from a friend so we don't know who's a boy and who's a girl. We decide long before getting them that we would not keep the boys (I'm not going to slaughter them so I don't know what we're going to do with them)
Anyway, they are only 2 1/2 weeks old, but two of them are very aggressive. They chase the others around and charge us when we reach in the brooder. I was just wondering if they are establishing pecking order or are those aggressive little bugger really boys.
Any insight?

Sometimes pullets will act like cockerels when they are establishing the pecking order. That includes chasing each other and chest bumping.

If it jumps up and acts like it is trying to spur your hand, that is propably a cockerel.
