The people inside city limits fought for the right to keep chickens. I thought that fight would apply to all of us, but I was wrong. They are ok in the rural areas and, thanks to the fight, in the cities. They are only not allowed in the suburbs—a fact I didn’t know before and should have researched more carefully, I guess. We were really careful to buy a home in a neighborhood without an HOA, too. I actually thought we were being reasonably diligent!

I see. So it depends on if you're zoned ag or not. Looks like Tampa defined them as a pet whereas the county defined them as a farm animal. Florida... y'all can't vote for anything properly can you lol.
