CockRoaches in my coop ahhhhh! Can Muscovy help?

if I let the Muscovy Ducks overnight in my chicken coop, would they eat the cockroaches? Or is there another way to get rid of those nasty bugs?

Where are your chickens? Mine adore them. Are they the winged kind of cockroach? I don’t think ducks like insects like that.

They are what was referred to here when we moved to Texas that they are Tree Roaches.

They are huge! The ladies would eat them but they only come out after their have all gone to roost for the night.

Where do they come from? outside? If they’re in the bedding try scratching at it while some of your chickens are around so they see the roaches and hopefully eat them.

I have a special dustbuster for roaches. When my chicken see me coming holding that thing it is hard for me to even get into the coop or run because they love those things.

I believe you have those palmetto cockroaches(just as a FYI). I hated those things when I lived in San Antonio.

Do they hide out under things during the day? If so, you could try what I do and leave something in the run (I use a rubber tub for dust baths) that they will crawl under, then during the day I move it so the birds can grab their treats.

I think they are under the coop in the day time I have seen a couple pop up when I cultivate the run soil. No sign of them until I bring the flashlight out at night. I joke about letting the cat sleep in there! She kills those thinks if they dare enter the house. It is a joke only because the poor cat is afraid of the chickens! Even chicks make her hide.
