I thought I would set a few eggs this week and get a jump on next summers egg harvest. But I may have a problem,my girls are mid morning layers I leave for work before light, by the time I get home my eggs have been sitting for several hours, with temps as low as the mid 40"s,will these eggs still hatch

I'd say try it. I've heard of people taking eggs from the fridge and hatching them, so I can't see why yours won't work.

I think they will be fine. We are having the same temps here in Wisconsin and I've had eggs sit in the coop all day and develop in the incubator just fine. It takes a while for the egg to cool down after being laid and in my coop it stays overall warmer then outside. Just put lots of straw or shavings down for insulation.

I bet they will be fine. I have some eggs hatching right now that I bought that had been refrigerated and are hatching great.
