Four weeks ago I hatched out 17 keets. One keet died at two weeks old. Now one has just collapsed and is laying on her side. The others were running her over. They all seemed healthy two hours before this happened. The affected keet sometimes moves her head, wings, or legs but she can't get up. I think she is dying. What's wrong with her?

Sorry I didn’t read this in time - I don’t think the two you tagged are very active, as I haven’t seen them post here lately.

Best to tag @R2elk or myself

Anyways — I’m sorry your little one died.

What are you feeding them?
What kind of bedding do you have them on?
Heat source? At what temperature?

The best way to know for sure is a necropsy, double bag the keet and refrigerate , I cannot tell where you are but you can take it in or send it in to your state vet and they will do a necropsy to tell you what happened to your keet, Sorry you have now lost 2 keets 2 weeks apart.

Thank you @Unicornlife3316 I will try to remember you when need to tag someone knowledgeable in these birds, already knew r2elk

Yes a necropsy is a good idea if they can do it!

I check about once a day, so I’m usually around!

Ok, thank you everyone. Unfortunately I have been offline these last few days and buried the keet before I read your answers.
@Unicornlife3316
My keys have I think 21% protein grain, I can't remember the brand, and they had a great source until very recently. I don't know what temperature, but also or garage is heated so that does help.

It is very likely that your feed is not good enough for keets. The protein level is lower than they really need but the problem is that if this is a chick starter feed it does not contain the levels of lysine, methionine and niacin that keets need. I feed my keets a turkey or game bird starter that is 28% protein and also contains the higher levels of lysine, methionine and niacin that keets need.
