collecting chicken poop

I have a poop tray under my roosts and clean it out weekly with a cat scoop and put it in an old feed bag.....don't have any use for it, other than maybe I can spread it on the weeds around my run? Will it kill them? I'm hoping so.....will the poop stay "hot" because it's straight poop with no bedding in it?

Probably your weeds are stronger than you think. What you would not kill at the moment, you would be feeding future weeds. Use a weed wacker to control your weeds. Dispose of poop into trash , if you do not use/need it. Maybe there are gardeners in your area, that would appreciate it in their compost piles.

This may or may not be ideal for you but find the highest point on your property and make a pile of chicken Poo. Mix in leaves, grass clippings and other yard wastes, along with bedding or other materials you clean out of your coops and runs and let the pile get bigger and bigger as time goes on. Then one day when you take up a gardening hobby or need to fill a pot with soil the bottom middle of that pile will likely have the best soil in the world. This only works out with people who have the right type of property. Maybe you have an HOA or just one of those neighborhoods where a poo pile is frowned upon.

Thanks much for advice, I think I will start a compost "site" we've got plenty of room and I love my indoor and outdoor plants and flowers......

You are probably right, will probably only make them "super weeds" LOL
