Collecting eggs and keeping them cool before incubation?

Hi All,

I want to save up a weeks worth of eggs to hatch so I don't have a couple of eggs hatching every day for days if I were to put them in the incubator as I get them, but I know that the eggs need to be kept cool (around 55°) while they are being stored before incubation.

How do you all keep your eggs cool at that temp? My refrigerator won't get that "hot" and it is way too hot in the garage or any other place (even in the house) to store them while I wait to get enough to put in the incubator all at once.

What is your recommendation?

Thank you,

Unfortunately I don't have a basement and the crawlspace stays about as hot as the outside temp which these days is in the mid to upper 80s.

Our house is at 75 for the summer as the ac is set pretty high to conserve energy. I just put them in a carton and put the carton in a garbage bag tied off. Have had 100% hatches with this method, while storing the eggs for up to a week.
