I know I'm young and everything but I've wanted chickens for about 3 yrs now and I have my girls now. 6 girls and 1 rooster. All 4-5 months. Well chickens last long and by the time it's ready for me to go to collage I have a feeling it's either community college or online college. I dont want to get rid of them bc there my babies. I know I shouldnt be worrying about this but I want to know what people think ya know.

I'm in college right now... well sort of. Online you know? But I haven't had to give up my chickens. It's a community college, and I used to be in campus but not since COVID-19. It depends on if you can manage your time or not. Number of classes too... will you be able to complete your coursework and be able to take care of your chickens at the same time? For me that has been a yes... despite having 21 chickens. They don't take up too much of my time. I fill their feed, clean the water and rake the coop once in a while.

So I think you will have no problem, but that is of course up to you. Once that time comes, you can decide whether to give up your chickens or not. And of course, if you move to a non-local college that could be a problem. But it sounds like you're not going to.

Well if you go local, you can commute home every day. It's what I do. Also online usually isn't nearly as time consuming as people think.
Yea online was just a thing that popped into my head one day lol. But yes I was thinking community collage but then my school is going to go through the whole which college suits u and is gonna try and make me go somewhere else to be honest.

I don't think your school can 'make' you. Recommend yes, but the choice is yours.

Don't worry, it isn't as hard as you think. And BTW, I'm the same age as you are!
