So here I was correct on color for male right? I took (e+) as a lack of black or a black pusher so that not much black appears before the tail. I thought (p+) would be, not a pea comb. Go re read?@1muttsfan I just read part one of the link. WOW, really cool, I get the idea but doubt I would write an accurate prunnett square yet. I want to cross RIR over BO. So, (b+, b+) would maybe be my male with (e+) and (p+) I know it isn't exactly a total profile, I was trying for color w/o barring and single comb. Mind you I have not printed out the lesson for reference, just a quick try to see if I'm getting the basic idea. How did I do?
Here, you're way ahead of me. I have not read on BO's at all yet. I think I understand a red hen is going to be say, (B,–) or (b+–) right? Even if I have it all wrong here, I'll get it, it's really interesting! The male carries two genes for barring, so b+/b+ .... hen only carries one b+/ (Sex linked Genes are like this sex linked barring, silver and gold). RIR would be eWh/eWh and BO would also be eWh/eWh. The only difference in these 2 breeds other than type are the BO carries Db/Db and the ginger/dark brown and they also carry a dilute Di/Di.
