We have 3 different types of geese, and after 4 years, we finally have a hatching of 3 goslings. We have 2 females that share the same nest each year. One is a Touloose and the other one is a Embden. The male that was around the Touloose is an African Goose. He is the only one of our flock that has a black bill and feet. We have other ganders that are Touloose, and Touloose mixed the Embden. The 3 goslings all have black beaks and feet. Do gosling's beaks change color when they start feathering out or do they satay the same color from birth?

Thank you for your insight.

Blue Sky & Green Pastures is what we live for.

Some of them do change color.

Can't say for sure what your mixture is going to do though.

Toulouse are born with black bills and legs/feet and they lighten up as they feather out. The africans also have the black bill/legs/feet. I'd guess these babies are out of the toulouse female and either the african or the toulouse males. I'd think and I don't know for sure that the embden mixes would have pink or pink and black bills????

Here is a pic of a baby toulouse

the shape is slightly different on the bills in that on africans the bill reaches higher up on the face but I'm not sure it would matter in a toulouse/african cross cause the baby could be taking after either parent and one couldn't know.
