Hi! I'm in southern Colorado. Anyone else in this area? I work full time and can only get eggs after work. With our sub zero temps I'm looking for some tips on how to keep my eggs from freezing.

I am new to this.. extra hay and heat lamp near the area possibly that is on a timer.? check in the am to see if they laid any before you leave in the morning. then check at night.

I leave before the sun rises. And based on my experience with my hens they lay around 9am. If go out before then there are no eggs. I have hay and a heat lamp but it's been really cold. Thank you

We are in colorado springs and our red stars are laying daily but at different times of the day. Sometimes 8-9a, sometimes mid day, sometimes right before bed time. They are laying 5-6 days a week (more like 6 but i think there was a week where it was only 5). I thinking adding a heat lamp might be a bad idea as they will gather in that spot all day and if it is close quarters, they might start going zombie :).
