Colorful female golden pheasant

This female was regular brown until a few weeks ago, now she has a colorful head and neck. Is this normal, or do I have a particularly pretty lady? She's 3-4 years old. Do they get more colorful the older they get, like the males? Her sisters are all brown.

When this happens it means the hens ovaries are not functioning properly. It doesn't mean they will die or anything just that they probably won't lay anymore.

Thank you! I've heard about female birds molting into male colors when their girlie-parts stop working, but I've never seen it in person. Quite neat! And good to know it doesn't affect her health.
