Colorful Hens?

Good Day Everyone! I do not have any chickens... yet, however, my grandkids are really putting the pressure on to hurry up and get some! So my question is this; which breed has the most colorful hens? I would like to stay with a standard size breed that produce a fair number of eggs. Any suggestions?

Each breed can come in a huge variety of colors

But if you just want to order from a Hatchery or buy at the Feedstore, you get limited choice. Best thing to do is get a bunch of different breeds, a good variety - OR - Get some Easter Eggers.

Easter Eggers are sold falsely as Ameraucanas all the time, but in reality they're a mutt that come in many colors and can lay blue, green, or brown eggs. Always a fun thing with kids, and a good friendly variety too, but not an actual breed, hence all the variations.

Sounds like Easter Eggers are the way to go! Sometimes the best dogs are mutts - so why not chickens as well?
