Hi,
So I am going to be getting a Polish Crested chick soon and was wondering about what color one I should get. Is there one coloring more rare than the other? Thanks!

There are 8 varieties of Polish accepted by the APA and in the Standard of Perfection, three bearded, and five non-bearded. They are:

Bearded Buff-Laced
Bearded Silver
Bearded White
Non-Bearded Golden
Non-Bearded Silver
Non-Bearded Black-Crested White
Non-Bearded White-Crested Black
Non-Bearded White Crested Blue

Just look them up and choose one to your liking.

Actually the number is up to 10 varieties of Polish that the APA now recognizes (http://www.amerpoultryassn.com/PDF Forms/APA Recognized Breeds and Varieties Sept2012.pdf). In addition to the 8 above, they also recognize the Bearded Golden and Non-Bearded White. My personal favorites are the Bearded Golden Polish.

Michael you really know your chickens.. It's only 2:22. a.m. here but, I'm calling it a day. See you tomorrow in the usual place.
