One of my three week + chicks is the most lovely blue colour with what looks like barring. A lot of my other cochins are black and white barring but this little one looks like 'she' may be a barred blue? IS this possible or is it just a passing stage on her way to a more solid colour. I have a few pics for you to look at and pass comment on. I have to say that I am totally in love with this batch of cochins from Floridachicks!!

So tell me what you think, I have never had this colour or any of the other variations before so this is new to me.

First question: Does the breeder have barred and blue? If so it could be a blue barred.
If they dont have one of the colors, it is a throwback. We got a chick that had barred wings when its first feathers came in, then she molted out to be black. She came from our whites, so anything is possible.

It most likely is a blue barred. Floridachick sells hatching eggs from a mixed group of colors. All are cochins but i believe they are blue, black, barred, and white. (sorry if I am giving wrong info). Anyway, I believe the barring is dominant. I also got some eggs from her and every chick came out either black barred or blue barred. I did not get any solid colors. Hope this helps.

Thanks guys, yes, you are right on the colours that Florida Chicks has. I seem to have a few blacks, black barred and now this blue barred. I do have another dark blue that doesn't seem to be barred.... whatever, it is really pretty!
