I will try to post a photo but here's the scenario. 2 weeks old, mostly black chick ( I have no idea breed on this one) long neck, large single comb, giant thick legs also black and way behind other chicks of same age in the feather department. I have two other mostly black chicks although they have white markings on their heads. One has a comb, one doesn't. So I'm guessing I have a roo on my hands, correct?

Very likely, often the young roosters will get a red blush on the comb/wattles and pullets stay pale.

the little "guy" i mentioned and his brother? in the background. I've two roos, don't I. none of the other chicks are showing combs like that yet

same guy - one week later

that's BB King in the middle of the action
no way it's not a Roo, right?
oh ya, not sure what's breed he is for sure but those wings feathers are pointy
he's so big at 3 weeks, i think i need to find a home for him now rather than waiting til he gets destructive - but he is a sweetie to me

Your top one is definitely a roo.

For 3 weeks, the one in the middle looks like a roo.

the one in the middle, the black one right? it's the same bird. unless you mean the cute baby in the foreground? she's too cute to be a Roo and I can't have a Roo.

you will also find that the cockerals will have longer and thicker legs than the females. Pick them up and turn them over. You can definitely tell between male and female legs.

Yes, the black one :) So there is only the one cockerel that I see.
