Was wondering if someone could help ID/verify these comb types? Please? And possibly critique my newly adopted dominecker hens (further down).
Does this buff laced brahma have a single modified comb? It seems short and thick with almost a double layer of points at the back. I'm trying to get an understanding of the genetics that could be at work with his comb so I can then understand how this might affect his offspring..
Are #1 and 2 correct, pea combs?
#3 is a Columbian Wyandotte .. her comb is flat, almost shiny smooth and has no over hanging point at the back like I would expect on a rose comb...?
The Domineckers
Our 2 newly adopted dominecker hens Quincy and Nova are settling in with the flock. I have ZERO idea if they came from a hatchery or not, all I know is this is their 3rd home, they came from very cramped quarters one girl seemed to have mites on her feet so we've been working on that. Do they appear to be domineckers for sure? Decent looking or so-so?
