I need help - my friend has a small flock of ducks with two guardian geese and I have 12 Welsummers that all were intended to grow up together but this didn't work out.
His animals are older by about a month. We keep looking for when it would be safe to combine them - now they are about 4 and 3 months old... Is this possible?

We intended to house them all in a Harvey Ussery style a frame -- chickens roosting above the ducks. But my experience with introducing adult poultry to each other tells me that this will make life hell for the little chickens for a long, long time...

Waterfowl + poultry =
Waterfowl group + poultry group + that weird that hangs out with the 'other' ones
Lol, waterfowl don't tend to pair up with poultry, so so long as you don't have a bunch of drakes who are gonna gang rape the hens then you'll probably be fine. Our geese/chickens/ducks don't fight, they just go their seperate ways. I suggest you introduce them at around dusk / dawn. Preferably dusk, if dawn then you'll need to free range otherwise they may fight.

Just make sure all the chickens are roosting
