Hi
I have two grown ladies and will be adding 8 new pullets to them once new house and run is up, and of course the little ones are old enough. Anyway, how do you go about feeding once they are in same house since the little ones can’t eat layer feed yet?

We too feed Flock Raiser, with a separate feeder holding oyster shell for the birds actually laying eggs.
Find an all-flock type feed that's fresh (by mill date) where you shop. Here it's Purina's Flock raiser, 20% protein.

Here turkey finisher from the local mill is cheaper than flock raiser. Basically your purchasing a 18-22% protein poultry feed that only has 1% calcium. Chick starter (non medicated), flock raiser, broiler feed and turkey finisher are all flock feeds.

Oyster shell is usually sold bulk at feed stores. Scoop what you want into a plastic bag. Very inexpensive that way and a little goes a long way.
