We were given a few chickens last fall and some of the hens' combs were flopped and folded over. Around Easter, one of them hatched out some chicks. I noticed yesterday that about 2 of the chicks combs look like they are leaning over a little as it is growing. What caused the combs to lay over? I thought it was just because they came from our other hens but I noticed one of my Golden Comets comb looks a little off. What am I doing wrong??

You're not doing anything wrong that I can think of. Some breeds combs are supposed to flop over. On the breeds that are supposed to be erect, a flawed gene will allow a flop comb.
Comets are hybrids so there are a lot of different genes in them.
I think they're a cross of RIRxRIW

Thank you. I've been feeding the chicks medicated chick starter and they always have fresh water. I thought I read somewhere a while back that it could be a lack of nutrition or something like that. So I wasn't sure if I was doing something wrong since these are our first chicks that we've raised. A floppy comb is not as attractive. haha

Nope, nothing wrong. My main rooster, Skeeter, always gets rave reviews on his health and appearance, and he has a floppy comb. He even won first place in an online rooster show, but he has had a floppy comb since he grew it out. At first I worried that he might not be able to see out from under it, but he does just fine - and can spot things the other roosters never notice!
