Todd, I adore you for thinking of the community chest...(ok, I adore you anyway)

Stay tuned....the Online store will open soon and it's going to help keep the site and board here going rather than ezboard and (ugh) yuku.....

I'll be the sender of the goods, I have paypal, and we'll rock the pop when we get the details figured out....

Hello, for those of us ignora-mouses, what is the community chest?
I ventured (once-just the day before yesterday) into the "other" BYC ezboard...sorry, not going back again :| to try and figure this out. (didn't like it...sorry, sorry, sorry please no one take offence! I just didn't find it easy to navigate like this site!)

The community chest was like a bank- we could go there and give money towards the cost of the board. Back on EZ---if you did not sign up as a paid EZ user, everytime someone looked at your topics/pages, it cost money, but it's always been a priority to keep the site free for anyone to be able to partake. There are many who would donate money to the community chest or purchase an EZ membership for a BYC "family member", so that it could be maintined free for all that wanted. CC continues the priority of keeping it free to everyone and one of the ways for making a little money to keep this site going will be the online store with BYC related items on it.

I for one hope there will ALSO be a version of the community chest (maybe called a community egg basket?)----anyway I digress.....

so there you go. Feel free to correct me CC- if I'm mistaken about anything.

Sandra, you are on the nose of this whole issue
I don't like Yuku
I don't like anying shoved down my "cyberthroat"
BYC forums are absolutely necessary to continue sharing our info, skills, experience...etc.

I don't want anyone to feel they "HAVE" to pay to find it.....

There is where I make my stand about ezsupporter status....
I'd much rather be able to send you something (online store coming VERY soon...) and have the funds go to maintaining the website and the new board....rather than....the ezsupporter upgrades that I can't vouch for as far as time goes on...

I've said it already, but I'll say it again....
Byc and I (and all of us) will benefit more from investing in our future (online store, etc) rather than upgrading to ezsupporter for a server network that focuses on the money rather than the info...

my personal bottom line? Look over, read and post on the new byc forums....

Give me feedback. We WILL stay together as an online community

That is how that other site I belong to does it, with a store/donations link.
I'll keep looking out for that 'egg-basket', this forum is well worth supporting and I'm ready to kick in when its ready to receive!
