That's a bit of what Shadrach and I were chatting about earlier. It's hard to say exactly what a Landrace is, there are several loosely accepted definitions. To me it's a group of birds that often don't meet specific enough requirements to be deemed a breed. They have similar traits and come from a specific place, but they don't adhere to a strict Standard of Perfection. A Landrace can become a breed if specifications are made to standardize them but why I'm interested in Landraces is because they don't need to comply to trivial Standards of Perfection and are often more disease resistant and tough.What makes a chicken land race
Maybe in short they are historic fowl from a place that, if kept, are loosely defined and selected for based on health and utilitarian purposes rather than looks.
