Compiling a List of Landrace Chickens: I need your help!

What makes a chicken land race
That's a bit of what Shadrach and I were chatting about earlier. It's hard to say exactly what a Landrace is, there are several loosely accepted definitions. To me it's a group of birds that often don't meet specific enough requirements to be deemed a breed. They have similar traits and come from a specific place, but they don't adhere to a strict Standard of Perfection. A Landrace can become a breed if specifications are made to standardize them but why I'm interested in Landraces is because they don't need to comply to trivial Standards of Perfection and are often more disease resistant and tough.

Maybe in short they are historic fowl from a place that, if kept, are loosely defined and selected for based on health and utilitarian purposes rather than looks.

Someone else tried your approach back in 2015, and I've been keeping an eye on their thread to see if anyone had new landraces to share. Cheack up FeatherSite for pictures, that's the one place where I've seen the most breeds named out.

One landrace I've seen in my area is the Euskal Oila / Marraduna / Basque Hen. It's not native to my country though.

Navajero Peruano or Peruvian Razor is a type of Game fowl that only have a Standard from Peru. Few breeders exist outside of Latin America. Navajero Peruanos are burly-bodied Game fowl that are from Andean South America and have been bred since the late 1500s.

They are derived from Malay, Grand Combattent du Nord (French), Aseel, Spanish Gamefowl, and Old English.

The hens are extremely broody.

The Standard is only available in Spanish.
