Hi!!!
I am brand new to BYC and chickens in general for that matter. My husband and I just bought and moved into our country home in December (25 acres with a creek). We have always wanted land and livestock (I knew I wanted chickens before we even found this place!) and its quickly turning in to a farm. We decided to start with chickens and then move on to pigs and cows! I've been researching how to raise chickens and different coops etc and I've stumbled upon this site quite a bit. This will be our first flock. I have 15 on the way and should be here in may! Black Australorps, Buff Orpingtons, Barred and White Rocks. Maybe a few Silkies because I think they are just precious. Really excited!! I'm hoping to get lots of eggs and a few pets out of them. We will be finishing up the brooder this weekend and then on to the coop!
